Starlight’s founder, Pavlos Flikas, was born in the small Greek town of Dafnero, Kozani. At age 12, he began learning the craft of local furriers, working with different kinds of furs like mink, beaver and fox, before moving to Canada when he was 16 years old.

Pavlos and his wife, Tina, began Starlight Furs in 1982, and today they make fur garments and accessories for clients across Canada, the US, and Europe. Other services include remodeling of furs, storage, and cleaning.

All items from Starlight Furs are made in Canada with the utmost precision, pride and passion, and come with the signature of Pavlos Flikas.

We first established our family trapline in 2012. Since then, our time is divided between our home in Yukon Territory and our family’s remote trapline. We see our products through from wild harvest to tanned pelts and finished wearable art pieces, easily displayed at -40°C temperatures.

Vanessa Aegirsdottir is an award-winning fashion and textiles brand that is co-owned by wife and husband, Vanessa Aegirsdottir and George Bahm. The signature fur jewelry collection is what the brand is best known for which has led to appearances in major publications such as Vogue, Esquire, and Forbes to name a few. In 2022, the pair opened a second retail store; this time in Skagway, Alaska – a short distance from their flagship store in Whitehorse, Yukon, which has allowed the jewelry brand to scale, serve more international customers, and create a demand for Indigenous harvested wild fur.
