The Fur Institute Canada is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2016 North American Furbearer Conservation Award. This annual Fur Institute of Canada award with the generous sponsorship of North American Fur Auctions (NAFA) recognizes outstanding furbearer and habitat conservation in North America.
The purpose of the Award is to promote awareness and recognition of individuals and organizations that have made significant efforts for sustainable furbearer management.
The objectives of this award are:
- To encourage innovation and excellence in furbearer management by the recognition of outstanding achievements of individuals and organizations;
- To build public awareness for hundreds of years of successful furbearer management; and,
- To instill a greater pride and sense of accomplishment within the fur community.
The deadline for nominations is April 1, 2016.
The recipient of the 2016 Award will be recognized at the NAFA auction in Toronto, May / June and at the Fur Institute of Canada’s Annual General Meeting in Yellowknife on June 25, 2016.
